Finding School Holiday Programs

Finding new ways of keeping our little ones active and entertained during school holidays, albeit a task, is so important to their physical health and social skills. We know it can be tricky to find something that suits everyone, so we’ve done our best to do that part for you! Here’s a list we’ve compiled of school holiday activity programs that we hope are accessible to you and we think will help out a little during the upcoming school break!

AUSTRALIA WIDE PROGRAMS

PCYC is an incredible source for school holiday and/or weekend activities and a great way of trying out a range of classes to see what your child thrives in the most. PCYC staff are awesome with kids and cater their classes specifically to the entertainment needs of primary and high school aged children. The classes operate throughout Australia, however, may differ based on location -so check out the website or give your local club a call to see what’s up for grabs these school holidays!

Active Activities is an easy to use site that collectively lists all school holiday sports activities and gymnastics programs available Australia wide! Simply search your state and post code for a detailed list of clubs running classes near you!

NSW Programs

Central Coast Gymnastics is running a “Holiday Fun” program Wednesday-Friday both weeks of the school holidays! The classes run in 3 hour sessions, both morning and afternoon plus an option of both at a discounted price, and not only cover gymnastics fun but craft activities and movie screenings as well! Booking must be done over the phone –contact information on website!

QLD Programs

Super Performance Centre is a training facility that offers unique activities and programs to their community. Classes such as recreational gymnastics and Kindergym are available as well as Aerial and Parkour classes specifically for Teens! The centre has a viewing area for parents and carers so you can stick around and watch your kids learning new skills and achieving their goals!

ACT Programs

Gungahlin Gymnastics offers a school holiday program for children ages 5-13 focusing on teaching core stretching techniques and basic gymnastics skills based on age groups. The Gym is owned by local gymnasts, one of which competed at an elite level around the world and the other with experience in sports administration and dance teaching. The club offers 2 hour classes in either a morning or afternoon session and loves opening their doors to gymnasts of any level.

VIC Programs

Twisters Gym in Northcote VIC runs classes 9am-5pm weekdays throughout school holidays! Bring the kids in for a full day of entertainment of just a few hours. 30 positions are available each day and if you get in and book early, there’s a spot for you! The staff at Twisters are all about the fun side of gymnastics and love seeing their students try new skills even if they’re scared! Check out their list of holiday programs and book online now!

TAS programs

The Kingborough Community offer a diverse range of school holiday programs, from yoga to rock climbing and all in between –gymnastics included! The “Supatramp” program teaches basic trampoline skills and prioritises fun and entertainment over perfecting techniques. They also offer cooking classes, Theatre excursions and movie days.

SA programs

Gymnastics South Australia has two locations that offer school holiday programs –O’Sullivans Beach and Happy Valley. The programs are for children ages 4-14 and run in 2 hour increments throughout the day. The programs range from Kindergym activities to competition level skill teaching! NT Programs

Darwin Waterfront are hosting Gymnastics NT’s “Come and Try Gymnastics” for the very first time this year and are inviting children aged 3-12 with any form of gymnastics experience to come along and try something new! The gymnastics program is only running for three days through the school break so don’t hesitate on booking your kids a spot! There are many other programs available across the school holidays if you miss out –Water tag, Karate and Netball included!

WA Programs

High Flyers WA are offering school holiday workshops at their brand new venue in Wangara. They are welcoming first time gymnasts to experience competitors to come along and join the fun! The sessions include gymnastics, tumbling, trampolining and Parkour so there’s bound to be something suitable to everyone. If not, why not just try out something new? Lunch is provided for an additional fee and classes are for children 4-12 years old. Download their information leaflet for more info!
