Introducing Sports Psychologist, Dr. Sue Jackson

We are excited to announce that Dr Sue Jackson will be a contributor to The Gym Spot. Dr Jackson is one of Australia’s most recognised Sport Psychologist’s, and has vast experience in the field, both through working with elite athletes and lecturing at Australian universities over the past two decades.

Dr Jackson is the co-author of “Flow in Sports”, with the world renowned psychologist and researcher, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi , where she investigated the process of athletes achieving peak performance through attaining the elusive mental ‘flow state’ when training and competing.

She is also the mother of one of Australia’s elite male gymnast’s, Jack Riek, who is currently on the comeback trail from knee surgery. Jack has already represented Australia, and Sue’s involvement in Jack’s career and observations of it leave her uniquely qualified to comment on the application of sport psychology to gymnastics.

Dr Sue Jackson is also the in-demand principal of Body and Mind Flow (www.bodyandmindflow.com.au) , a consultancy she runs out of Brisbane in QLD. She can be contacted through her website, or via email at sue@bodyandmindflow.com.au .
